Cherry wood, also known as Black Cherry or Wild Cherry, is a valued wood due to its fine grain, warm patina, and the ability to develop a rich reddish-brown patina over time. It has a smooth texture and pairs well with various finishes. The wood in this lisitng is straight grained. 

Typical of Cherry wood, it does have random narrow sap pockets similar to what I'm pointing to.
